Palanga is certainly worth a visit. This place used o be an old fishing village. But since the 19th century it is a known place for tourism. During the summer many people from the countryside in Lithuania go there on holiday. The street that brings you to the pier is has a lot of charm, certainly during sunset.
In Palanga you can also find a botanical garden of 110 ha. During the summer there are concerts given in the park. In this park there are a lot of conifers and around 500 plant varieties. In the middle of the park you can find the house of landgrave Tiskevicius. Now the amber museum is located in this house. In this museum you can find everything there is to know about amber. The way it was formed and how they dig it. You can see a lot of amber stones with insects inside. They also show you the different types of amber you can find in different locations.
